Scott Bowen
Management
I have been a part of the Stockfeed industry for 30 years in which 27 years have been in supervisory/Management roles. Including roles in Manufacturing, Sales and transport, but my passion lies in manufacturing and could not be more content with my current role as Site Manager at Cobden.
Q1: Share some interesting facts about yourself
- I am a ex rugby player living in Victoria and trying to bluff everyone I know something about “Aussie Rules” by telling them I support Collingwood.
- I am passionate about most sports, but it’s the journey of golf that has me fixated.
Q2: What do you believe differentiates Reids from other companies?
Being a family business resonates with me. There is a real feeling of inclusion and a sense belonging. Reid’s make you feel like you belong and inspire you to provide the customer the best service possible by working as a collective.
Q3: What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learnt in life?
- You Gain control by giving up control.
- The only thing worse than making the wrong decision, is not making a decision at all.
Q4: Your goals or aspirations for the future.
To work alongside the Reid’s team and lead the operations at the Cobden site to establish the reputation as the feed supplier of choice by farmers in the southwest.
Q5: Quote or mantra that inspires you
I can never go past what my old man constantly said, “Good Manners don’t cost a thing”. One that I have been working towards for the past few years is “Get comfortable being uncomfortable”. I believe we can achieve greater growth when we take ourselves out of our comfort zone.
