Q1: Share some interesting facts about yourself
- Whole life (to date!) has involved cows from riding the house cow as a toddler, calf club at primary school, milking them, eating them (I’m no vegan!), and revolving my career with them – farming to advisory. In fact – one of my best moments is walking in the beef calving herd at dawn.
- Being outside – trees, damp soil, healthy growing plants, mountains and clear running creeks – cause that means I’m likely on holiday!
- I do not like pumpkin ever! – childhood trauma being forced to eat it
- I have a cast-iron stomach because….
Q2: What do you believe differentiates Reids from other companies?
That Reid’s was founded by farmers shows through!
From how we have approached the recent fuel situation, to the way staff think about what is happening on farm. We care, we have an amazing well skilled team and we go the extra mile through our the whole team.
Q3: What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learnt in life?
- Do not judge a book by it’s cover
Q4: Your goals or aspirations for the future.
- At the moment – we are at what is next as the last two are at university.
- Staying local to family, being able to visit family and to travel.
- To be challenged, and to feel I am helping make a difference.
Q5: Quote or mantra that inspires you
Stop, reflect and look forward – especially in farming! What have you achieved, where have you come from and where are you heading? Sometimes getting bogged in the day to day can mean losing focus of the journey you are on.
