Q1. What is the minimum size bulk delivery?
A. Multiples of 5 tonnes
Q2. What does that “Feedsafe” logo mean?
A. “Feedsafe” is an industry standard introduced by the Stockfeed Manufacturers Council of Australia. To gain Feedsafe accreditation we are audited annually by an independent body on each site to establish whether we have a quality assurance program in place that covers all facets of the business; from buying the commodities that go in the feed, milling process, ration formulation, customer service and delivery. In a nutshell, what this means to the end user is that they can buy feed from us with confidence, and that we will stand by our products.
Q3. What on farm services does Reid Stockfeeds offer?
A. We offer a comprehensive advisory service to our clients, including production planning and monitoring, body condition scoring, feed budgeting and custom mix rations.
Q4. Does cow nutrition affect Somatic Cell Count (SCC).
A. Research in Australia, USA and Europe has shown that Selenium, Zinc and Vit E as feed additives will help reduce SCC, and yes we can add any of these on request
Q5. I keep hearing the term “transition feeding”, what exactly is this?
A. The transition period is the transition from a dry cow to a lactating cow. Proper feeding during this period can have a huge positive impact on milk production and improved fertility. Correct nutritional management during this period can return an additional $200/cow/lactation in increased milk production. Our nutritionists can formulate a feeding and management plan with you.
